In the year 1809, before vanishing in L'Hotel D'Arnais, LeMarchand started to ponder the idea of working with glass and mirrors to create the ultimate puzzle box.  A gateway to Leviathan’s Labyrinth, capable of bringing forth an army of Cenobites to rule the New World.  The idea was to unlock the box with light, using the sun to illuminate it, casting patterns onto a surface allowing one to solve it in a much larger scale.

LeMarchand began drafting what would become known as the Ghost Configuration.  Taking the Lament Configuration patterns, he acid etched the designs on a solid 3 inch glass cube.  His belief was that when light is passed through certain points of the box, a shadow will be cast revealing the key to opening the gateway.  Like his original Lament Configuration, there are many different ways to open the Ghost Configuration, ways unique to each person.
